New Jersey schools to teach Finance 101 classes for high school seniors.

A bill has passed the state legislator in New Jersey that will require high school seniors be taught how to write a check, manage credit card debt, and obtain a mortgage.

It’s amazing they were not already being taught this stuff. I remember learning this stuff when I was in 8th grade and a freshman.

Of course leave it to a Democrat to express concerns about the added requirement.

Sen. Jim Whelan, D-Absecon, is worried about adding requirements to the curriculum without extending the length of the school day.

Of course what Whelan is really worried about is the idea of people actually being able to take care of themselves without the help of government. See that would be a loss of power.

The churches in New Jersey are asking the force of government to ban children sporting events like little league on Sunday mornings. The use of government to enforce values on a society is wrong regardless of religion folks.
