Overall it was a good speech I thought it was very Reaganisque…not so much in the delivery, but in the message. It is what you say, not how you say it.
We heard a lot about smaller government, lower taxes and individualism. Here are a few excerpts from his speech I liked.
“We were elected to change Washington, and we let Washington change us.”
“We believe in low taxes; spending discipline, and open markets. We believe in rewarding hard work and risk takers and letting people keep the fruits of their labor.”
“I will keep taxes low and cut them where I can. My opponent will raise them. I will open new markets to our goods and services. My opponent will close them. I will cut government spending. He will increase it.”
“His plan will force small businesses to cut jobs, reduce wages, and force families into a government run health care system where a bureaucrat stands between you and your doctor.”
“We will drill new wells offshore, and we'll drill them now.”
“My grandfather came home from that same war exhausted from the burdens he had borne, and died the next day. In Vietnam, where I formed the closest friendships of my life, some of those friends never came home with me. I hate war. It is terrible beyond imagination.”
“Russia's leaders, rich with oil wealth and corrupt with power, have rejected democratic ideals and the obligations of a responsible power. They invaded a small, democratic neighbor to gain more control over the world's oil supply, intimidate other neighbors, and further their ambitions of reassembling the Russian empire.”
“I'm not running for president because I think I'm blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save our country in its hour of need. My country saved me. My country saved me, and I cannot forget it. And I will fight for her for as long as I draw breath, so help me God.”
McCain Addresses Government Education
This was one of my favorite moments of the night. The teacher’s unions could not have been happy.
“Education is the civil rights issue of this century. Equal access to public education has been gained. But what is the value of access to a failing school? We need to shake up failed school bureaucracies with competition, empower parents with choice, remove barriers to qualified instructors, attract and reward good teachers, and help bad teachers find another line of work.”
“When a public school fails to meet its obligations to students, parents deserve a choice in the education of their children. And I intend to give it to them. Some may choose a better public school. Some may choose a private one. Many will choose a charter school. But they will have that choice and their children will have that opportunity.”
“Senator Obama wants our schools to answer to unions and entrenched bureaucracies. I want schools to answer to parents and students. And when I'm President, they will.”

Liberals Just Don’t Get It. It’s Not About His Military Service.
John McCain also shared his military and POW experience with the country last night. It was a compelling story that I am sure must have been extremely hard to share, but it is an important story that America needs to hear.
I was surprised to learn the North Vietnamese had broke McCain. I was unaware of that. I thought he hung strong until he came home. I was moved by this story and nearly had tears in my eyes.
It was just a few days ago Jimmy Carter told us McCain was milking his POW experience for all it was worth. This morning I heard a commentator ask the question: Does John McCain’s POW experience matter? Does it somehow make him more qualified to be president? Why is this something I should consider when I cast my vote? Because I don’t think it should matter. I think his military and POW experience is irrelevant to be president.
Maybe it is irrelevant, but liberals miss the point. McCain’s story was not about his military or POW experience. It was about his character. It was about selfless service. It was about finding a greater purpose in life than yourself. It was about always, no matter the situation you find yourself, putting your country first. Even if country first means great suffering unto yourself.
Here is how McCain told the story. I want you to notice how McCain went from a person who felt there was no greater cause than himself to fighting for a cause greater than himself…America.
On an October morning, in the Gulf of Tonkin, I prepared for my 23rd mission over North Vietnam. I hadn't any worry I wouldn't come back safe and sound. I thought I was tougher than anyone. I was pretty independent then, too. I liked to bend a few rules, and pick a few fights for the fun of it. But I did it for my own pleasure; my own pride. I didn't think there was a cause more important than me.
Then I found myself falling toward the middle of a small lake in the city of Hanoi, with two broken arms, a broken leg, and an angry crowd waiting to greet me. I was dumped in a dark cell, and left to die. I didn't feel so tough anymore. When they discovered my father was an admiral, they took me to a hospital. They couldn't set my bones properly, so they just slapped a cast on me. When I didn't get better, and was down to about a hundred pounds, they put me in a cell with two other Americans. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't even feed myself. They did it for me. I was beginning to learn the limits of my selfish independence. Those men saved my life.
I was in solitary confinement when my captors offered to release me. I knew why. If I went home, they would use it as propaganda to demoralize my fellow prisoners. Our Code said we could only go home in the order of our capture, and there were men who had been shot down before me. I thought about it, though. I wasn't in great shape, and I missed everything about America. But I turned it down.
A lot of prisoners had it worse than I did. I'd been mistreated before, but not as badly as others. I always liked to strut a little after I'd been roughed up to show the other guys I was tough enough to take it. But after I turned down their offer, they worked me over harder than they ever had before. For a long time. And they broke me.
When they brought me back to my cell, I was hurt and ashamed, and I didn't know how I could face my fellow prisoners. The good man in the cell next door, my friend, Bob Craner, saved me. Through taps on a wall he told me I had fought as hard as I could. No man can always stand alone. And then he told me to get back up and fight again for our country and for the men I had the honor to serve with. Because every day they fought for me.
I fell in love with my country when I was a prisoner in someone else's. I loved it not just for the many comforts of life here. I loved it for its decency; for its faith in the wisdom, justice and goodness of its people. I loved it because it was not just a place, but an idea, a cause worth fighting for. RNC Coverage Day 3
The Base of this Party is Energized! What a night! This was just awesome! The convention hall was already filled with energy from Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani, who gave great speeches, and then Sarah Palin came out and blew the rafters off!
It was a great night to be a Republican, better night to be a conservative. Sarah Palin has brought Reagan conservatism back to the party! She made a connection with the base of this party that has not been felt since Reagan and for the first time in my life I am fully energized, excited and 100 percent behind the Republican ticket!
Yes, it is true, I have voted Republican in every presidential election since Bob Dole, but it was always a vote against the other candidate more than it was a vote for a candidate. Sarah Palin is Bringing Reagan Conservatism Back!
44 years ago a Hollywood actor named Ronald Reagan walked up to the podium of the Republican National Convention and delivered a speech forever known as “the speech” in support of Barry Goldwater rejuvenating a dieing party and launching his political career that would lead him to the White House for 8 years.
For years the base of the Republican Party has waited in frustration for someone to bring back the platform of Reagan conservative values to the party that were abandoned in favor of the republican elitists moving the party to the middle leaving the party split, divided and dieing.
A lot of conservatives had given up on their fruitless search for a new Reagan to emerge and fight against the elitist of their own party, the media and liberals, realizing the likes of Reagan was one of a kind never to be seen again.
We were wrong! Wednesday night at the RNC Alaska Governor Sarah Palin brought Reagan conservatism back in an electrifying speech, once again solidifying and energizing a dieing party. She sent a wave of Reagan’s spirit through the convention floor, addressing her critics in the media and attacking the Washington elitists in a humorous and inspiring rhetoric not seen since Reagan.
After John McCain announced Palin as his choice for VP running mate, a humorous frenzy spread across newsrooms across America. The sophisticated establishment of the media claimed disaster for McCain. A woman with five children, a lifetime NRA member gun toting moose hunter, clinging to Jesus, married to a snowmobile championship racer/fisherman and a pregnant 17-year-old daughter resonated the phrases “white trash” or “trailer park trash” in their minds.
The media then set out to destroy her trying to define Palin to the public as a dangerous religious fanatic from the back woods with little experience incapable of being a heartbeat away from the presidency.
It is the same media and liberal elitists who laugh and attack Sarah Palin as trailer trash that categorized Ronald Reagan as an amiable dunce more than 20 years ago. They labeled him as a mere simpleton, a Hollywood actor with a performance that fooled America. They were never able to believe or accept a graduate of Eureka College and not one of their Ivy League colleagues was representing America on the world stage.
Ronald Reagan never let the contempt of the cultural, literary and journalistic elites bother him. He simply spoke over their heads directly to the American people. In Sarah Palin, we have a figure that showed us the capability of doing the same as she addressed her critics from the convention podium.
"I'm not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I've learned quickly, these past few days, that if you're not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.
"But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion; I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country."
The one thing Americans noticed the most from Palin was authenticity, something that goes right over the heads of the elitist beltway boys and media. Palin’s qualities of being a beauty queen, gun toting, moose hunting, mother of five, member of the Assembly of God Church and a serious reformer of corrupt politics baffles the ivy league sophisticated. Peggy Noonan Caught Bashing Palin on Hot Mic
It was just recently the Rev. Jesse Jackson was caught saying harsh words of Obama, on a hot mic now we have a conservative victim to a hot mic.
Don’t these people know every mic is supposed to be treated as hot or live?
Anyways, after an interview, Republican consultant Mike Murphy and Wall Street Journalist columnist Peggy Noonan were caught on a hot mic bashing Sarah Palin.
“It’s over,” Noonan said. The most qualified? (talking about Palin) No. I think they went for this — excuse me— political bullsh** about narratives," she said. "Every time Republicans do that... because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at and they blow it." Murphy then addded: "The greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and this is cynical."

Liberman Puts Country First Over Political Career
No surprise here. Joe Lieberman is under fire from his Democrat colleagues after giving a prime time speech at the Republican National Convention. The Obama campaign stated after the speech that Liberman “proved a long time ago he’s not a Democrat any longer, and last night he reminded everyone he’s not even a man of his word any longer.”
Lieberman is an independent, but still caucuses with the Democrats and is the chairman of Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, but now finds those positions in jeopardy. A spokesman for Harry Reid says that “it’s likely” the Democrats will caucus after the election to decide the fate of Joe Lieberman in the Senate.
“He has every right to make a partisan speech at the Republican National Convention if that is what he wants to do…Having said that, that doesn’t give him the right to question Obama’s role and record in the Senate in the speech,” said the spokesman.
I guess just by mere disagreement with Obama makes you a liar, and how dare he question the “messiah,” this is no doubt blasphemy. Perhaps they will burn Lieberman at the stake.
Maybe Lieberman has no right to bring up his record, but how about duty to expose Obama as the leftist he is? Lieberman put his country first in front of his political future. I hope McCain rewards him with a cabinet seat in his administration if he wins.

RNC Coverage Night 1 or was it Night 2?
Night one was washed out by hurricane Gustav, and the Republican National Convention was turned into a fundraising drive for the hurricane victims. The RNC put the country first and cut their convention short, which was definitely the right decision.
Joe Lieberman put it all on the line for McCain
Wow…Joe Lieberman really put country before party last night. His democrat colleagues are not going to be happy about that at all.
“So tonight, I ask you whether you are independent, a Reagan Democrat or a Clinton Democrat, or just a Democrat: This year, when you vote for president, vote for the person you believe is best for the country, not for the party you happen to belong to.”
Lieberman is probably finished within the Democrat Party, but I doubt he cares all that much.
Fred Thompson was On Fire Last Night!
Fred Thompson gave a great speech last night. If he had spoke with that kind of spirit and humor during the primary he might have been the nominee.
Thompson gave his overwhelming support for VP candidate Sarah Palin and had a word for her critics.”Some Washington pundits and media big shots are in a frenzy over the selection of a woman who has actually governed rather than just talked a good game on the Sunday talk shows and hit the Washington cocktail circuit. Well, give me a tough Alaskan Governor who has taken on the political establishment in the largest state in the Union — and won — over the beltway business-as-usual crowd any day of the week.”

One of the major differences between this convention and the Democrat’s convention is how the story has been told about their candidate. John McCain has friends, personal experiences from people like Fred Thompson and Joe Lieberman who worked proudly with McCain in the Senate. Character witnesses if you will…We did not see that during the DNC.
No one during the DNC could tell a personal story of working with Barack Oabama or share any of his life accomplishments…Yeah, there was his wife, but it isn’t as meaningful when it comes from family. Maybe the reason we never got any character witnesses is because the people that know Obama the best are the ones Obama doesn’t want you to remember that he is associated with.

They’re Trying to Write Her Off the Ticket, It’s disrespectful to women and down right sexist!
The leftist media and liberals are running scared over Sarah Palin. They are attacking her on anything they can find! The New York Times actually ran a story questioning whether a mother of five should be working at all! Wow…is that fair? Did anyone ever question a man on whether he could be a father and hold a job?Then we have this so-called “troopergate” thing, which is going nowhere. Palin called the investigation of her own actions and the officers who lost their jobs are even saying she had no role.
These attacks are disgraceful. They are disrespectful to women and completely sexist.
Now we have the media asking if John McCain properly vetted their VP pick. Come on folks. Is this the best they can do?
It is truly amazing; it took three days for the media to unleash a non-stop attack on this woman and her family. This same media won’t even ask Barack Obama why he was associated with an unrepentant terrorist named William Ayers, or why he sat in a pew of a church that preached hate and discontent toward America for more than 20 years.
The problem with Sarah Palin is she is not a member of the DC political establishment. She is a member of the middle-America crowd. She has a family that probably reminds you of your family or the one that lives next door.
This lady scares the media. They know she is a winner, and they’re going to do anything they can to try and write her off the ticket. They want John McCain to drop her from the ticket.

Portrayal of an Inexperienced Palin and an Experienced Obama.
Well, this was expected. The media has released the attack dogs on Sarah Palin. The first weakness they will try to exploit: her lack of experience. In order to do this they are going to try and portray Barack Obama as much more experienced than Palin. This is a lie, but it is one that will be packaged in a way people will believe.
Here is a prime example of this attempt to raise Obama’s experience of Palin’s from the editorial page of Mercury News in California:
“Republicans will argue that Palin is no less experienced than Obama. That is ridiculous. In the Senate, in organizing a stunningly successful national campaign and through 18 months of hard campaigning for the nomination, Obama proved to be as capable, articulate and knowledgeable as anyone in Congress – and certainly the equal to McCain.”
The left will continue to use this fact that Obama has executive experience because he has ran this stunning campaign that employs all these people, but what does that actually mean?
Obama didn’t actually run or organize the campaign. He brought in some very capable people to do that for him. So all he has proved is he can hire effective people to do a job, which is an important skill in itself, but it is hard to believe, as Governor of Alaska Palin has not done the same.
As far as his Senate experience, Obama was only in the Senate for 143 days before he announced his candidacy for the presidency. He then essentially became a part time Senator.
Articulate? Yeah ok. I will give that one to Obama as long as there is a teleprompter near by.

Obama: “I have said before and I will repeat: People’s families are off limits…And people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. So I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know my mother had me when she was 18 and how a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn’t be a topic of our politics.”

Former DNC Chairman Don Fowler was caught on tape claiming hurricane Gustav’s timing with the Republican National Convention “just demonstrates that God’s on our side.” Fowler has now released an apology, but not for the remark, and claimed the person who taped him was a “right-wing nut case.”

McCain’s VP Pick is Genius!
John McCain has picked former Miss Alaska and current Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin as his VP running mate. This is a great pick. I love this pick. It is a solid pick, it is bold and it’s just downright genius!It is genius because unlike what the media and others wanted or expected McCain went with a pro-life conservative with real true conservative values instead of a pro-choice moderate. Palin has the ability to solidify the conservative base of the Republican Party that has felt left out. People like myself, and to paraphrase Michelle Obama a little bit, for the first time in years I am proud to be a Republican. I believe by the end of the Republican National Convention people will realize who she is, and it will energize and unify the base of this party. A moderate choice would not have done that.
In another way it is genius is because McCain stole the press from Barack Obama’s speech last night. No one is talking about Obama today. It is all McCain and Palin! If Mitt Romney had been the choice we would not have had this kind of buzz today, and this buzz is going to carry all the way through the weekend leading into the convention.
This choice is also genius because no one expected it. I assure you the Obama campaign has been working for all week coming up with different possibilities for McCain’s VP and how to counter it after the announcement. They had nothing on Palin. They were caught off guard. In fact, about the only thing they could come up with for a statement was McCain picked someone who could be a heart beat away from the White House with no foreign policy experience… What??? How about there heartbeat has no foreign policy experience…
Palin Lives Out Her Conservative Values
Palin is a pro-life Christian conservative. She is a proud wife and the proud mother of five kids and has lived out her pro-life principles. When faced with the knowledge of her last child having down syndrome before birth, she elected to have the baby anyway. She has an A+ rating from the NRA, and is also a lifetime member and an avid hunter. Palin is not only a strong supporter of the war in Iraq, but has a son in the military about to deploy to Iraq. This woman is real, real life stories from a real life mom with real life experiences all based on values and principles.
She is also not afraid to fight members of her own party, filing complaints against the chairman of the party when she found things to be unethical. She has stood up against earmark spending and fought Ted Stevens over the “bridge to nowhere” project in Alaska.
More Executive Experience Than Obama
Of course the Obama campaign is trying to portray Palin as having less experience than him, and the media is following suit. The reality is Palin is more experienced and more qualified than Obama.
Palin has more executive experience than Obama. She has run a city, state and a business. She has signed and vetoed legislation. She has taken on corruption in her own party…and won. She has administered a successful budget and is the commander in chief of the Alaskan National Guard.
Obama turned a blind eye to political corruption in Chicago and to my recollection has never proposed one piece of legislation in his short Senate career.
DNC Coverage Night 4: The Messiah Speaks
College Football or the DNC? I went with college football.I am going to be honest. The only part I tuned into last night was Barack Obama’s speech. I just couldn’t stomach anymore of this America sucks convention. So I watched college football until the messiah was scheduled to take the stage, and then I flipped over to Fox News to watch it.
The Stage didn’t look like a Greek Temple
I give credit to the Obama campaign and the media. The stage did not look like a Greek temple, and it didn’t look like they were trying to present Obama as some iconic godly figure. The event was actually tastefully done in my opinion. You can watch the whole think here and decide for yourself if you like.
Pandering to the Government Educated Dumb Masses
Last night’s speech only reinforces my position on government education being used as a tool to keep people uneducated so politicians can gain power. Obama said so many things that were so absurd he should have been laughed out of the stadium, but the dumb masses don’t understand it.
Obama knows and understands he has been hit hard from critics on his plan to raise taxes on small businesses that provide 80% of new jobs in the economy. So Obama comes out last night and says, “I will eliminate capital gains taxes for the small businesses and start-ups that will create the high wage, high-tech jobs of tomorrow.”
Sounds good doesn’t it, Obama the tax cutter…here is the problem with that. Most small businesses do not pay capital gains taxes. They pay income taxes. Obama’s plan is to raise income taxes on these businesses. So telling the American people he will eliminate their capital gains taxes is simply pandering to the uneducated that doesn’t even know the difference between income and capital gains taxes to begin with.
Then Obama made the claim Republicans and McCain have not proposed one penny of tax relief for over 100 million Americans and said, “Republicans want to give more and more to those with the most, and hope that prosperity will trickle down to the rest.”
This is a common theme among liberals. To them the wealthy hasn’t earned what they have. It was either given to them or gained through good fortune and luck. So there is nothing really wrong from taking it away from them to even things out. They should pay their fair share, but what exactly is their fair share?
If you were educated, you would know the statistics. You would know the bottom 50 percent of income earners pay approximately 3 percent of all income taxes collected by the federal government. When you get to the bottom 40 percent that percentage drops to zero. There are approximately 300 million people in America, which means about 120 million Americans have no federal income tax liability. Obama says Republicans are offering no tax relief to these people. Relief…relief from what?
You would also know the top 50 percent of income earners pay 97 percent of all income taxes collected by the federal government with the top 25 percent paying 83 percent. This hardly seems fair, but unless you educate yourself you will never know these numbers.
It would be great to pull one of these members of the chanting change dumb masses from the crowd and ask them the difference between capital gains taxes and income taxes. To see the confused blank look on their face when you ask “how you give income tax breaks to 100 million Americans who don’t pay income taxes?” would be priceless.
John McCain votes with George W. Bush 90% of the time? Bush gets a vote?
It seems the Obama campaign is dedicated to the idea of linking John McCain to George W. Bush. We have heard it the whole convention, and we heard it again last night. Obama claimed McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. This line is effective because the dumb masses don’t know any better. They have never stopped to think wait a minute; Bush doesn’t have a vote in the Senate. How do you measure the percentage McCain voted with Bush?
The fact is you can’t. You could measure the amount of times he voted with the Republican members, but most Senate votes are unanimous. This would mean the only way not to so-called “vote with the president” would be not to vote at all.
Where’s the Beef and Where is the Change?
Obama’s speech left me asking the same thing I have been asking this whole convention. Where is the beef and where is the change?
There is still no substance to what his plans are for change in America. I know he wants to change something, but I have no idea what the hell it is he wants to change.
In fact, I don’t hear any change. I hear the same old thing I have heard liberals say my entire lifetime of 31 years, and what they probably said long before that.
Obama Finally Gets a Bounce
It took four days and a speech in a stadium, but Obama finally got his convention bounce of about 5-7 points depending on which poll you look at.
Jimmy Carter is a Real Jerk
I have never agreed with Jimmy Carter on much and believe that he is one of the worst presidents this country has ever seen, but I always thought he had class and was a genuinely good guy…until now.Carter has gone on the attack accusing John McCain of “milking every possible drop of advantage” from his POW time in Vietnam. Is he serious?
If anything John McCain has down played his POW experience and can you blame him. I am sure some of the memories are not all that pleasant from his POW days.
Where was Jimmy Carter’s criticism during the last presidential election? Kerry could not go half an hour without reminding us he served in Vietnam.
Even if John McCain is “milking it for every possible drop of advantage,” I say why not? After all, it is a pretty compelling story and a significant event that helps explain who McCain is today.
What would Carter know about it anyway? Carter was farming and eating peanuts trying to make a decision whether or not to run for governor in Georgia while John McCain was in being tortured for five and a half years.
Jimmy Carter should zip it and go back to the peanut farm he came from in Georgia. Just a tasteless disgraceful act.

History Made
No matter what you think about Barack Obama as a candidate, he will forever be engraved into history as the first black politician ever nominated for president by a major political party in the United States. Good for him and good for America. We truly have come along way. Of course, according to Democrats, America still sucks!
Bill Clinton National Security and His Legacy
There was some real nice rhetoric flowing last night. I finally heard the words national security. Amazing it took until day 3 to get there. I guess reminding people how bad off they are is more important.
My favorite moment came when Bill Clinton reminded us all how great he was at commander-in-chief and once again tried to save his legacy.
Our memories seem to contradict as I remember Somalia, where Black Hawk Down happened. Islamic warlords murdered American troops, drug a service member’s body through the streets, and we tucked our tails and ran.
What about the bombing of the USS Cole that went unanswered.
The 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center basement that went unanswered.
UN inspectors were kicked out of Iraq twice during the Clinton years.
Some of the largest military cutbacks in history took place during the Clinton Administration. The defense budget was less than 3% of our gross domestic product, the lowest level since America's pre WWII isolation period. The United States Army was reduced from 18 fighting divisions to 10, two of which were not even combat ready. The Navy went from 583 ships to 371 and 74 of those was understaffed. The Air force went from 366 bombers to 208. We had more combat experienced officers resigned under the Clinton Administration than any other time in History. The Clinton Administration left our military in far worse shape it should ever be in.
Yeah…that sounds like a great commander-in-chief to me.
Who and What is This Convention About Again?
Lots of rhetoric, no specifics, yeah I know Obama is going to tax the rich and give it to the poor. I got that. You know when you rob Peter to pay Paul you can always count on the support of Paul.
There are still no specifics here. This is by far the most unknown candidate ever to be nominated and placed on the ballot in this country. Perhaps we will get some specifics tonight from the messiah. I doubt it though.
They’re all from rags to riches!
Has anyone else picked up on this theme? Almost everyone who has given a speech at the DNC was broke down, on their luck and a loser in life, but they were all able to raise him or herself out of the depths of poverty and into prosperity…It’s the American dream, and it is under attack from those evil republican bastards, because they made America suck!
In fact, America has never sucked so badly until that Bush guy came along, and John McCain is Bush’s clone! Same old message, different day…definitely doesn’t sound like change to me. It sounds like the same old bologna sandwich they have been serving for years.

Day 3 is complete and still no bounce in the polls for Obama. McCain has actually gained ground on Obama during the convention. It is the first time in history the opposition has gained in the polls during a convention.
I did some research and found according to gallop polls dating back to 1964 the average convention bounce for a candidate is six to seven percentage points. Even with the messiah from the temple speech tonight it will probably not happen.

I mentioned this yesterday. Hurricane Gustav is coming, and its timing could not be worse for John McCain. In fact, New Orleans says they could start evacuations tomorrow afternoon. The same time McCain plans to make his VP announcement.
The storm was projected to hit Sunday night, but now looks like it will hit New Orleans late Monday or early Tuesday morning. It is still a ways out and anything could happen I suppose. I wonder if Democrats will give credit to Barack Obama, the messiah for bringing this storm to rain on the Republicans parade.

It is the end of summer; Labor Day weekend is here…this can only mean one thing…college football is back!
There are two games tonight of interest to me, NC State vs. South Carolina and Oregon St. vs. Sanford.
NC State at South Carolina: This is the 56th meeting between the border rivals, but the first since 1999. The Gamecocks are having some concerns in the QB spot, but so is the Wolfpack. The Gamecocks have better defense and is 14-point favorites.
The Big T Pick: South Carolina 27-10
Oregon St at Stanford: This should be one sloppy football game, but it will be close and fun to watch. Oregon St. has an all-new starting front seven on defense, but can Stanford’s week offense take advantage? This is a must win for Sanford because it is not going to get easier from here. Their next four out of five is on the road, but they will fall short. Oregon St is 3-point favorites.

Hillary Clinton owned the night. It was a great speech. In fact, it may have been the best speech of her whole political career.
Of course the speech was more about her than it was about Barack Obama, but Clinton accomplished everything she needed to. She did the lets support Barack Obama and the party, rallied the crowd to their feet, and finally sparked some enthusiasm in this convention.
What she really accomplished, and this was her goal all along, was to show the convention delegates and America that she should have been the VP choice if not the candidate.
Bottom line, Hillary hit a grand slam. It was a good night to be a democrat, but it was also a good night to be a republican, because she is not on the ticket. If Obama had chose her as his running mate it would be over for John McCain!

According to the latest gallop poll John McCain has gained and actually taken the lead over Barack Obama. This is the first time in history the opposition candidate has gained ground in the polls during a convention. I smell landslide in November folks.

Another theme, we are fighting for universal healthcare, because every American has the right to affordable healthcare. Really? I must have missed that right in my copy of the Constitution.
It is just so bad in America times are so hard. We got to have Barrack Obama come along and fix it all for us, because we are to inadequate to take care of ourselves. We got to have government do it for us.
Government dependency, it is motivating and inspiring to democrats, makes me wants to puke!

I found a new way to watch the convention last night. It is called C-SPAN! Yeah, no more idiotic CNN or FOX News talking heads telling me how I should think and feel about what I just heard. No more pandering comments from bias journalist, just a running tape of the convention. Amazing!

The Cult of the Messiah, Barack Obama, Our Lord
No he has never walked on water or sated the hunger of 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and a couple of fish, but Barack Obama continues to attract Jesus comparisons from many of his followers since announcing his candidacy for the presidency.He has been introduced several times as a savior of the Democrat Party. An artist created a sculpture depicting Obama as the messiah with a crowned halo that was actually displayed with much controversy at the Chicago Institute of Art during the Easter holiday in 2006.
For several months now I have shrugged off the Messiah, Barack Obama stuff claiming it to be a small minority of liberal whack jobs operating from a strong emotional base that ignores reason. Reason, of course, would point out that Obama’s policies are about the same as any other liberal democrat and his experience is minimal. However, in many instances the phenomenon has become practically cult like, as one blogger who tracks these events on the blog “Is Barrack Obama the Messiah?” writes:
... And when [OBAMA] was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."
There is no reference as to where the above statement came from or if it is the personal work of the blogger, but what is clear is this is not just some random act of Obama worship from a small group on the left. In fact this seems to be a new hysteria that has over taken the left as a whole.
To those who worship at his feet this is not out of the ordinary. To them he is the man of all things great. If you type in the key words Obama messiah at Google you’ll get about 1.5 million results. That is a disturbing number within itself, but the real concern comes from the way people describe their emotional reactions to this former unknown politician from Chicago.
San Francisco Chronicle Columnist Mark Muford explains to us that Obama is a higher being than the rest of us in his column “Is Obama an Enlightened Being?”
Barack Obama isn’t really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway … it’s not merely his youthful vigor, or handsomeness, or even inspiring rhetoric … It is something more … a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity.
Dismiss it if you like, but I’ve heard from far too many enormously smart, wise, spiritually attuned people who’ve been intuitively blown away by Obama’s presence—not speeches, not policies, but sheer presence…
Many spiritually-advanced people I know identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who casually help usher in a new way of being on the planet…. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.
Chris Matthews, a talking head from MSNBC whom one may make the argument has some professional objectivity left, listened to an Obama speech and claimed it was the “New Testament”
“I’ve been following politics since I was about five,” he said. “I’ve never seen anything like this. This is bigger than Kennedy. Obama comes along, and he seems to have the answers. This is the New Testament. This is surprising.”
Others want to give Obama his own chapter in the good book!
“What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history. The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance,” declared Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. of Chicago.
Those are some strong statements made about a man with no real substantial accomplishments in his political career, but what is really
agitating and frightful is how little interest Obama followers and the media have in the actual track record of the political savior with the cry for “change.”It is also disgustingly amazing and frightening to watch Barack Obama get cheers and applause from a crowd during a rally in Dallas, Texas during the primary race for blowing his nose and then declare, “I am confident we can create a kingdom right here on Earth,” or when women faint in the mere presence of his existence. (Which interestingly enough has not happened again since the news of “swoon-mania” broke.)
Is it possible people have lost their sense of God to such a degree they are worshiping a presidential candidate?
One needs to look no deeper into the question than the supporters themselves.
In a letter to the editor of the Charleston Journal Gazette Time Courier, in Illinois Steve Davis writes:
What if God decided to incarnate as men preaching “hope and change.” And what if we didn’t recognize them, because we are so dull, and let them slip away, not availing ourselves of the opportunity to be led by God!
“I believe in Barack Obama,” yells one supporter at a rally. “It’s almost like a revival for a lot of people’s souls,” extolled another.
As the crowds gather to worship their messiah, he declares himself the Democrat candidate, and then capitalizes on the dumb masses with the same type of rhetoric he used to capture them in the first place.
"The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment - this was the time - when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals."
All this delivered to a hyped applauding cheering crowd with so much emotion it nearly drowned the candidate out with noise.
This has been the strategy of the Obama campaign. Instead of focusing on policies and accomplishments, which are extremely limited, they have played on emotions of their supporters.
As this story, “Obama Basic Training” by John Hill of the Sacramento Bee, points out Obama volunteers were told to share conversion stories about how they came to support Obama and not his policy views. If asked about policy issues refer people to the Obama website.
This is what makes this more like a cult than a political campaign. Obama strategist sound more like evangelical Christians exclaiming how they came to Obama in the same way born-again Christians tell about how they came to Jesus.
Even Obama’s campaign logo has more of an iconography cult feeling to it for a political campaign. Most of the time the usual political poster is simple. It either has the candidate’s name in patriotic colors, as well as some nice adjectives attributing abilities and experience to his leadership like this John McCain poster to the left.
Other times it is a picture or photograph of a candidate, usually in color, looking either firm or friendly. To the left is a good example of that from Hillary Clinton’s camp.
Obama’s political material takes on a whole other world. The Obama Online store, which is an official part of the Obama campaign, hired propagandist artist Shepard Fairey to create Obama’s presidential campaign poster. This poster transcends the usual flag waiving national pride and instead portrays a new symbolic metaphor to go along with the candidate. Here is a look: 
The one-word message offers a simple-minded promise of utopian existence, much like the graphic style of the old totalitarian Soviet Union propaganda. It brings back the idealized portraits and personality cult of the “Beloved Leader” of Stalin and Lenin. The leader is illuminated by a “holy” light, looking off to the horizon at a truth that is not available to his mere mortal followers, who must look up to his image.
As is the case with other cults throughout history, perhaps the best metaphor for Obama and his followers is “mirage.” He shines and shows upon the horizon like water in a hot desert, but as the thirsty followers approaches closer they realize, usually to late, there is no water at all, but rather nothing, or sometimes something far worse.
Millions of the Messiah, Obama’s cult followers are thrilled the “mirage of change” is spreading across the nation this election year. They are so overwhelmed with the idea of change they aren’t even concerned what the change may be. But let us do what no politician ever wants us to do – stop and think for a moment.
In order for anyone to be successful with a mandate for change without a specific outline of what that change may be is to find a way to turn off people’s thinking and turn on their emotions.
This is precisely how Jim Jones led hundreds of people to their deaths at Jonestown, Lenin and Stalin created a regime of mass murder in Russia, Hitler rose to power in Germany and Mao in China.
The unification of people behind the “mirage of change” essentially means asking for a blank check in exchange for feel good rhetoric. That deal has been made several times in many different places throughout the history of the world – and millions of people have lived to regret it.
Obama says he wants to “heal America and repair the world.” I wonder if he plans to rest on the seventh day.
The way this campaign has been going one should not be surprised if a light shines through the windows of the Democratic National Convention followed by a big voice from the sky saying,
"Be not afraid; for I bring upon to you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: for there was born to you in the city of Chicago a Savior, the great messiah, who is Barack the Democrat."
The fact there are so many people ready to be swept along by such rhetoric is a huge danger, for it means the fate of this great nation is at risk from any skilled propagandist who comes along and can reach a cult like following.

Random Thought on Storm Gustav and the RNC
Tropical Storm Gustav is heading toward the Gulf of Mexico. It is projected to be a Category 3 hurricane and possibly hit the New Orleans coast on Sunday. Now, this is one day before the Republican National Convention.
Can anyone else but me see the media distraction from the convention this could cause or worse yet, what if it is another FEMA fiasco… The RNC could very easily become the irrellevant news story!

My John McCain VP list
There is no doubt the media has pinned Mitt Romney as the choice John McCain will make to accompany him on the ticket, but I don’t think that is going to happen. Here is why it won’t be Romney.
Although Romney picked up momentum toward the end of the primary and looks like he may energize the base of the party, It was more of an anti-McCain sentiment driving Romney to the front rather than a Romney is our guy momentum. Plus McCain and Romney have never seemed to like each other much. So it is really hard for me to see McCain offer him the job, although politics has made stranger bedfellows in the past.
I think John McCain will go with Rudy Giuliani. One reason I think this is the carpet was laid out the day Giuliani endorsed McCain after dropping out of the primary. If you will remember McCain and Giuliani never talked so highly of each other.
Giuliani would be an excellent choice, but not the best. Although he is a moderate and pro choice, he is also tough on crime and national security. America seems to generally like him as well. I also think Giuliani might help steal some moderate Hillary Clinton supporters from Obama.
What he will not do is unite the die-hard libertarian and conservative base of the party, but it may not matter, because they have no other choice but to fall in line or let Obama win.
Personally, I would love to see John McCain choose North Carolina Sen. Elizabeth Dole. Dole would be a thorn in the Obama’s campaign’s side. She is well known. She doesn’t have much controversy behind her, and she can rally the base of the party.
She has accomplished more in her life than Hillary Clinton and may be able to capture some of those I am voting for Hillary because she is a woman voter.
Who else do I like:
Governor of Mississippi and former RNC Chairman Haley Barbour: He is very conservative and did an excellent job in the aftermath of Katrina.
Governor of Minnesota Tim Pawlenty: Minnesota is going to be a battle ground state this year. McCain actually has a chance to win there. Pawlenty is young, conservative, and endorsed McCain early in the primary.
Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn: She is highly attractive with a great personality and very conservative. She has a 97 percent lifetime American Conservative Union rating. She has only been in office since 2002, but that still makes her more experienced than Barack Obama. Just like Dole, she would motivate the base and reach out to woman voters. However she doesn’t have the same name recognition as Dole.
Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison: She is also more accomplished than Hillary Clinton and has a lifetime ACU rating of 90.4 percent. Although she has been known not to be particularly conservative on immigration. That could be a problem.

You Got to See This: Preview of Hillary Clinton’s DNC Speech Tonight.
Big T got his hands on a copy of how Hilary Clinton’s speech may go tonight at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Of course the theme will no doubt be unity, or will it, take a look. This is funny stuff.
Random Thoughts From Last Nights DNC
*Michelle Obama did an outstanding job last night, husband by satellite, children helping out, well done and well orchestrated by the Obama campaign.
*Teddy Kennedy also did an excellent job. It was good to see him able to make it.
*I know unity was the theme, but unity alone is not going to energize the base of the Democratic Party. Where were the campaign messages? I know this whole convention is hoopla and orchestrated, but even James Carville was asking the same thing in disgust on CNN. He was not pleased.
*Last night there was some talk from Michelle Obama about hope for the future, and how she wanted an America were people could achieve their dreams. I agree, but she forgot to add with the help of government. I want the government to get the hell out of the way of my dreams!
*Then we had Caroline Kennedy give a speech about what America has given us, in terms of government of course. I would rather think of what Americans have worked for and earned for themselves, but that is why I am conservative, and they are liberal.
*So, I flipped back and fourth between Fox news and CNN while watching this convention last night. I got to see Fox take it to the street and interview some of these young Obama supporters some questions.
No one could name any Obama accomplishments, and when asked why they support him: Well, he’s young, he has a nice voice, he’s handsome and he is a good performer. There you go folks, these kids are going to vote. Scary stuff isn’t it!
The Fox Reporter was quick to point out that the only vote many of these kids have ever casted was for American Idol.

Is China Drilling Off the Coast of Cuba?
There has been on going speculation over the last year that China is drilling for oil off the coast of Cuba. Recently Republican Florida Sen. Mel Martinez said China drilling off the coast of Cuba was just not so and was merely an urban legend.
So…which is it? Are they drilling or aren’t they? Since I don’t believe anything politicians say and half of what I read without investigating it to be true myself, I decided to do some research. Here is what I found.
In March 2004, China’s Petrochemical Corporation, Sinopec, signed a memorandum of understanding with Cuba’s national oil company, Cuba Petroleo or Cupet, to explore four oil blocks in Cuba. China’s Sinopec conducted six months of geological studies of the four Cuban blocks. This was the first attempt by Sinopec, China’s second largest oil and gas company, to enter oil and gas exploration and production in Cuba. It is important to also note the communist governments of China and Cuba owns these companies.
Approximately a year later in February 2005, China’s Sinopec signed an agreement with the Cuban government to jointly produce oil off the coast of Cuba.
So, basically what you have here is a production sharing agreement between Communist China government owned Sinopec and Cuba. Now for those of you who do not understand such business savvy terms, this basically means the Cuban government awards the execution of exploration and production activities to an oil company. In this case the company is Sinopec. The company bears the mineral and financial risk of the exploration and if successful, the company is permitted to use the recovered oil (cost oil) to pay all the expenses to recover it. All money after that (profit oil) is split between the government and the company at the rate agreed upon.
Here is some more information about oil exploration in Cuba. It is basically a timeline of energy news compiled from the World Security Institute. Here you will find not only is China dealing with Cuba, but so are places such as Canada, Brazil, Venezuela and Spain, to name a few.
Since we are focused on China, I have copied and pasted that information here.
January 31: Cuba and China signed a contract in Havana providing for the Asian giant's participation in extracting oil from a deposit off the island's north shore, the press reported. The deal is between Cubapetroleos and the Chinese oil company Sinopec, said the official daily newspapaer Granma. In December, Fidel Castro announced discovery of oil at a site offshore from Santa Cruz del Norte, some 55 kilometers (33 miles) east of Havana. The deposit is believed to hold some 100 million barrels of "light" crude, or the equivalent of 14 million tons. (EFE, Prensa Latina, 31/1/05)
February 8: China's oil giants began cultivating their virgin soil in Cuba. China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), as the first comer, has inked a contract with Cuba Oil Company (Cubapetroleo) to jointly exploit oil in the Caribbean country. Under the terms of their contract, the two sides will join forces to prospect and exploit a potential oil-producing region. Chinese experts believe it is a significant beginning of the cooperation between China and Cuba in the petroleum industry. (SinoCast, 8/2/05)
March 22: Chinese oil drilling equipment has begun arriving in Cuba as state-run Cubapetroleo (Cupet) and its foreign partners prepare to significantly increase drilling along the northwest coast, industry sources said. "Four service units and a small rig have arrived and we are waiting for more," said a Cuban oil service manager, asking his name not be used. There are currently five rigs operating along the northwest heavy oil belt, an 80-mile (128-km) stretch of coast in Havana and Matanzas provinces from whence come all of Cuba's 70,000 to 80,000 barrels per day of heavy crude at 8 API to 18 API and with a high sulfur content. The poor-quality oil is burned in modified power plants and factories. Cuba imports a similar amount of oil and derivatives, with preferential financing from Venezuela. Shengli Oilfield Administration Bureau, a unit of state-run Sinopec Group, will spend about $40 million drilling for oil and gas in Cuba, Iran and central Asia in 2005, company officials said. "This will be the heaviest spending in a year and we expect the pace to continue in the next few years," a Shengli executive told the press. Shengli, which is among the first Chinese companies to venture abroad, will sink a total of eight wildcat and appraisal wells this year, four in Kazakhstan, two in Iran, and one each in Cuba and Kyrgyzstan. November 24: PetroChina Great Wall Drilling Co., Ltd. and Petroleum Company of Cuba held a ceremony for signing two drilling service contracts on November 3, 2005. It is the second-time cooperation between Great Wall Drilling Co., Ltd. and Petroleum Company of Cuba after the signing of a one-year petroleum service agreement on one 1500HP drilling rig and one 2000HP rig on April 8 this year. The contract signed this time includes three 2000HP drilling rigs. The contract has a period of one year and a value of over US$24 million. The project will be launched in January 2006. Three large Chinese companies, SINOPEC, Petro China and CINOOC - China National Offshore Corporation, are involved in a large agreement, perhaps already underway, for coastal and deep-water explorations. Most significant to this topic, especially in light of other Chinese investment in Cuba, is the fact that Sinopec, China’s second largest oil company, has stated a goal of helping boost Cuba's domestic oil production and producing 60% of its oil needs by 2006. (As best we can gather by extrapolating from various sources, the island is producing roughly 43-45% of its minimal needs today, thus 60% self-sufficiency by next year would be a tremendous aid for Cuba‘s desperate needs for energy, particularly electricity and gasoline.) Although Cuba's oil production is relatively tiny, it has managed to quadruple its production levels of 1990 to 71,000 in 2003 and increase that to 75.000 b/d in 2004, but the country needs 160,000b/d to function just minimally (source: Energy Intelligence Group, Inc. International Oil Daily, February 1, 2005).
Additional plans for exploration and development of other blocs of potential reserves were announced by two other Chinese oil companies, China National Petroleum Corp. and China National Offshore Oil Corp., after talks with CUPET, Cuba Petroleum, Some exploration will be in coastal regions but much, based on the better quality of the oil, will take place in off-shore deep waters (source: National Post's Financial Post & FP Investing [Canada], February 1, 2005, all but Toronto Edition).
So, Sen. Martinez may be right. China may not be drilling oil off the coast of Cuba. Not yet anyway…look folks, the point isn’t that China is not presently drilling for oil 50 to 90 miles off the coast of Florida, but the bigger picture and point is they can! And thanks to the United States Congress, we can’t!
Some politicians like Sen. Martinez would like to focus on what is happening instead of what could happen. They can drill, we can’t. They are planning to, we aren’t. Even the government educated dumb masses should be able to figure that out.
So…which is it? Are they drilling or aren’t they? Since I don’t believe anything politicians say and half of what I read without investigating it to be true myself, I decided to do some research. Here is what I found.
In March 2004, China’s Petrochemical Corporation, Sinopec, signed a memorandum of understanding with Cuba’s national oil company, Cuba Petroleo or Cupet, to explore four oil blocks in Cuba. China’s Sinopec conducted six months of geological studies of the four Cuban blocks. This was the first attempt by Sinopec, China’s second largest oil and gas company, to enter oil and gas exploration and production in Cuba. It is important to also note the communist governments of China and Cuba owns these companies.
Approximately a year later in February 2005, China’s Sinopec signed an agreement with the Cuban government to jointly produce oil off the coast of Cuba.
So, basically what you have here is a production sharing agreement between Communist China government owned Sinopec and Cuba. Now for those of you who do not understand such business savvy terms, this basically means the Cuban government awards the execution of exploration and production activities to an oil company. In this case the company is Sinopec. The company bears the mineral and financial risk of the exploration and if successful, the company is permitted to use the recovered oil (cost oil) to pay all the expenses to recover it. All money after that (profit oil) is split between the government and the company at the rate agreed upon.
Here is some more information about oil exploration in Cuba. It is basically a timeline of energy news compiled from the World Security Institute. Here you will find not only is China dealing with Cuba, but so are places such as Canada, Brazil, Venezuela and Spain, to name a few.
Since we are focused on China, I have copied and pasted that information here.
January 31: Cuba and China signed a contract in Havana providing for the Asian giant's participation in extracting oil from a deposit off the island's north shore, the press reported. The deal is between Cubapetroleos and the Chinese oil company Sinopec, said the official daily newspapaer Granma. In December, Fidel Castro announced discovery of oil at a site offshore from Santa Cruz del Norte, some 55 kilometers (33 miles) east of Havana. The deposit is believed to hold some 100 million barrels of "light" crude, or the equivalent of 14 million tons. (EFE, Prensa Latina, 31/1/05)
February 8: China's oil giants began cultivating their virgin soil in Cuba. China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), as the first comer, has inked a contract with Cuba Oil Company (Cubapetroleo) to jointly exploit oil in the Caribbean country. Under the terms of their contract, the two sides will join forces to prospect and exploit a potential oil-producing region. Chinese experts believe it is a significant beginning of the cooperation between China and Cuba in the petroleum industry. (SinoCast, 8/2/05)
March 22: Chinese oil drilling equipment has begun arriving in Cuba as state-run Cubapetroleo (Cupet) and its foreign partners prepare to significantly increase drilling along the northwest coast, industry sources said. "Four service units and a small rig have arrived and we are waiting for more," said a Cuban oil service manager, asking his name not be used. There are currently five rigs operating along the northwest heavy oil belt, an 80-mile (128-km) stretch of coast in Havana and Matanzas provinces from whence come all of Cuba's 70,000 to 80,000 barrels per day of heavy crude at 8 API to 18 API and with a high sulfur content. The poor-quality oil is burned in modified power plants and factories. Cuba imports a similar amount of oil and derivatives, with preferential financing from Venezuela. Whatever Happened to Global Cooling?
Before there was “global warming” threatening the Earth, there was “global cooling.” All through the 70’s scientist was warning of the great threat of “global cooling.” That is right the Earth was cooling off back then. There were severe droughts lasting years in Africa causing catastrophic numbers of famine victims, record rain fall in the U.S., Pakistan and Japan causing some of the worst flooding in centuries. Canada suffered from a cold rainy spring bringing small wheat harvests. Some predicted it would become so bad that another Ice Age was coming.
Here is an insert from a June 24, 1974 Time Magazine:
…However widely the weather varies from place to place and time to time, when meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age.
Another Ice Age! Oh my…well I wonder what could be the cause of such things? Surely it could not be man could it?
Man, too, may be somewhat responsible for the cooling trend. The University of Wisconsin’s Reid A. Bryson and other climatologists suggest that dust and other particles released into the atmosphere as a result of farming and fuel burning may be blocking more and more sunlight from reaching and heating the surface of the earth.
Say what??? Burning fuel??? I thought that is what caused “global warming.” I mean is this not the exact opposite of the so called “green house effect?”
In this article “The Cooling World” from an April 28, 1975 Newsweek we are told of some outrageous solutions proposed to solve the crises of “global cooling.” Here is one:
…They (Scientists) concede that some of the more spectacular solutions proposed, such as melting the artic ice cap by covering it with black soot…
Wow…can you imagine if we had taken that advice…We would be in pretty bad shape today.
There is also something I found very interesting in the Newsweek article. I want you to look at the Average Temperature Change Chart. Do you notice anything about it? Notice from 1880 to the mid 1940’s the Earth’s temperature was increasing. Would that be a “global warming” period?
Could it be temperature change is just a cycle of warming and cooling?
I am not a scientist, never played one on TV, and have never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, but from what I continue to read on the subject of “climate change” continues to support my original theory on “global warming.”
There is no doubt in the time we live in the Earth’s temperature is rising, just as it has before, and just like before, it is rising after a cooling cycle, neither caused by the work of man kind.
The only hot air threatening the Earth is the hot air coming out of Al Gore’s mouth.

Joe Biden is an Odd Choice for Obama.
Barack Obama announced Deleware Senator Joseph Biden as his VP running mate. This seems to be a odd choice for Obama, considering Biden once supported John McCain as a vice presidential choice for John Kerry in 2004.And let’s face it; Biden isn’t known for his smooth talking, savvy off the cuff comments. In fact, he is known for his politically incorrect comments, for instance when he called Obama a “clean” black person.
In a February 2007 interview with the New York Observer Biden said, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice looking guy. I mean that is story book, man.”
Biden stirred up the pudding good and race pimp Al Sharpton was quick to show his distaste toward the comments telling Biden, “I take a bath everyday.”
However this is not the first time Biden has gaffed. How about in October 2007 when he told the Washington Post, --One reason that so many District of Columbia schools fail is the city’s high minority population… What??? Let a conservative say that and their career would virtually be over.
Here is another quote from Biden:
“In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin Donut unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” [Video here]
Then in this video we have Biden basically bragging that Delaware was a slave state and that he is not a Northeastern liberal…huh???
So here we have a man who blurts out what is on his mind, politically correct or not, at not the best of times. This has the potential to make the rest of this election season highly entertaining, but this had very little bearing in Obama’s decision to pick him as his running mate.
What Biden ads to Obama’s ticket is experience, particularly on foreign policy. He has, after all, been the head of the Foreign Relations Committee since June 2001. At the same time what Obama does not need is someone to emphasizes his own inexperience.
Which makes the Delaware Senator an even odder choice, considering in the primary it was Biden who harped on Obama’s lack of experience and said he was not ready to serve as president.
In my opinion, Obama has displayed a complete lack of confidence by choosing a Washington insider that has been in office longer than half of all Americans have been alive. So much for a campaign of change, looks like the same old thing to me.

Michael Phelps Sends Right Message to Children
Olympic swimming star and living legend Michael Phelps is going to be on a cereal box. No not the Wheaties box, but on Kellogs Frosted Flakes!There is some sharp criticism comming from health experts out there that Phelps on the box of a cereal with this much sugar content is sending the wrong message to children accross America... Are they serious....You know what message Phelps sends to children accross America? Get off the couch, work and achieve your dreams!
It may be true Kellogs Frosted Flakes is not the typical "breakfest of champions," but "they are great" and so is Michael Phelps.

The Karachi Kids A Must See Documentary!
I just finished the film and documentary “The Karachi Kids” and was frighteningly shocked! I was unaware so many American children were being taught in these madrassa schools of hate throughout Pakistan. The real scary part is they will return to the United States after being brain washed in the religion of the Taliban. This is a must see documentary and the most powerful film of the summer sure to bring attention to a much needed debate about radical Islam to the home front.

It’s a story that will show you a world of abuse, loneliness and transformation into radical Islam the Karachi kids go through while in these madrassas.
